Specifically relative to the censor option here.

Actually, I pretty much think it's funny.  I don't use foul language in my writing, unless really, really provoked, and have the ability to manage whatever circumlocutions are necessary to avoid doing so.

It doesn't particularly offend me.  I was raised by and around USAF lifer Noncoms.  Pretty much all of them were WWII vets, and they all talked just about the way one would expect a group of career Noncoms to, when they didn't think the kids were listening, or when the "kids" in question were old enough it didn't seem to matter anymore.  I haven't heard anything new since I was about 15 or 16.

But whatever.  I have occasionally run afoul of word censoring software in the past.  I'm not allowed to use the word "put-atively" in a post here, without a hyphen, because the first four letters are a derogatory term for a lady of the evening in Spanish.  (Papa, Uncle, Tango, Alpha.  Go to the dictionary if you need to.)

Sheesh!  I pressed 1 for English, folks.  I've run afoul of that kind of other thing in other places.  For instance, if one tried to make a joking reference to "Bush-ites", without the hyphen, I suspect that it'd object to that one because of the four letter Anglo-Saxonism for dung, too.  But at least that's English.

I saw a blogger complaining the other day that one could not use the word "socialist" in his comment section, either, because the trackback spam filter was hitting on the word 'Cialis' in the middle of it.

I understand all of this on one level, but when we have to start filtering out foreign words in the middle of things, and suchlike, I fear that we're going to wind up censoring ourselves right out of half our vocabulary before we're done.

Funny.  Sad, but funny.

And enough to make me load some more ammo!

It never fails!

Here about a month ago, I purchased two thousand .45 bullets for reloading.  (Definition for the uninitiated.  When I say bullets, that's exactly what I mean.  The bullet part.  The primers, cases, and powder I already had.)  I build my own, because it's almost 50% cheaper than buying them, and I get better performance for less money.

That's really not that many.  I average shooting probably 75 rounds a week in that caliber, so it's a 6 month supply, give or take.

But when I get irritated and depressed about the State of the Union and the World in general, I reload more ammo.  The fact that I'll be out of .45 bullets tonight or tomorrow probably says a lot about my state of mind.  I've also rolled up almost 500 rounds of various rifle calibers over that period.  And I ordered 2000 more 9mm bullets on Friday.  They won't survive outside of brass casings through August.

Spooky.

I only loaded 1500 rounds of rifle ammo and a thousand of pistol after 9-11 before I got calmed back down and decided I had enough in stock.  That's got to say something on how brown my outlook on the immediate future is getting, I suppose.

Oh, well.  If I don't need it for anything else, it's a self-correcting problem at the shooting range.

Israel's problems are starting to get me down.

Be it noted, for the record.  I'm an American, born and bred.  And I'm not Jewish, or anywhere near it, as far as my geniological records indicate.  Just so everyone knows that up front.

However, regardless of that, the amount of media fit throwing over the Qana issue is torquing my jaws beyond belief.  I can only explain this one way, so try to stay with me here.  I'm getting sick and tired of hearing about all the "poor innocent victims" of the Israeli air raids.  All of the song, dance, and media spin aside, it comes out just like this:

If someone is attacking me, my family, and/or my Country, with the intent to destroy us, and it, I would not give a rat's hindquarters who they were hiding behing while they were doing it.  The College of Cardinals?  So what?  A hundred Playboy Bunnies?  That isn't going to help them.  The third grade class from an Elementary School?  It doesn't matter one bit.

They started it.  They are shooting at my family, and my Nation.  Nobody gave them any reason to do that.  They decided that they could "win" by hiding behind their own dependents and other theoretically  'innocent' people.

Will I feel badly about killing a whole lot of noncombatants to get to the maniacs?  Surely.  But while they are shooting at us, I won't stop killing the crazed Islamazoids  maniacs until they are gone.

Israel isn't 'overreacting', or being disproportinate.  They are trying far too hard not to overreact.  Hizb. and the Lebanese are luck I'm not Jewish.  I'd create a dead zone from the border to the Litani, and as much farther as I had to go to make those rockets stop NOW!

I just hope that Israel hasn't lost it's sense of self preservation in some PC muddle.  And I sure hope that the United States hasn't, either.  The louder they proclaim that it will be them or us, and the more they try to prove it, the more inclined I am to figure that it needs to be them.

And faster, please!
